Hi, I'm Peter, the founder of Excelsior Cartographic.
Excelsior Cartographic was founded in 2021 at the University of Montana during my time there as a graduate student studying human geography and cartography. I was born in Queens, New York, but I've been lucky enough to also call Texas, Buenos Aires, Montana, Oregon, The Netherlands, Iowa, and more than a handful of other fantastic communities my home, at least for a while. My passion lies with the maps I create and is brought out by the places and people that have so greatly enriched my short life. I believe maps are the most complete and elegant way humans can share information; I believe their beauty is greater than the sum of their aesthetics (although, mine look pretty darn good hung up on the wall, too ;) ).
I am an experienced spatial analyst, cartographer, and researcher with a comprehensive understanding of socio-economic phenomena and macroeconomic policy as they relate to geography. I can speak Spanish with a heap of mediocrity and I can probably find my way to the restroom in Italy. My English isn't too bad, either. I make music, too, if you're into that kind of thing (look up "Bigg Gulp" on Spotify).
I love making maps. Let me know if I can help create the map of your dreams because, as previously stated, I'd absolutely love to.
